CVE-2026-107332 - Insecure default file permissions on cached credentials in AWS Toolkit for Visual Studio Code

    CVE-2026-107332

Bulletin ID: 2026-129-AWS Scope: AWS Content Type: Important (requires attention) Publication Date: 10/08/2026 10:30 PM PDT Description: AWS Toolkit for Visual Studio Code is an open source extension that lets developers work with AWS services, including Amazon CodeCatalyst, from within Visual Studio Code. We identified CVE-2026-107332, an issue in the CodeCatalyst connection handler. When a user connected to a CodeCatalyst Dev Environment, the extension cached the user's CodeCatalyst bearer token to a file with world-readable permissions and did not remove the file after the session ended. A local user or process on the same machine with access to the file system was able to read this file and obtain the bearer token. Impacted versions: < 4.10.0 Please refer to the article below for the most up-to-date and complete information related to this AWS Security Bulletin.

How one bug bounty researcher chooses the features they investigate

    bug-bountycybersecuritycybersecurity-awareness-monthsecurity

As we kick off Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the GitHub Bug Bounty team is excited to spotlight one of the top-performing security researchers participating in the GitHub Security Bug Bounty Program: @vaib25vicky! The security research community makes GitHub safer for everyone&mdash;that&rsquo;s the simple idea behind GitHub&rsquo;s Bug Bounty Program. For more than a decade, researchers from around the world have helped us identify and fix vulnerabilities before they could be exploited, helping protect the code that powers millions of development projects. As AI-powered experiences such as GitHub Copilot and the Copilot coding agent reshape how software is built, partnering with skilled researchers across both traditional and emerging attack surfaces matters more than ever. This year marked a new chapter for our program. We restructured our bounty tables around a core shift in what we incentivize: you don&rsquo;t earn more by submitting more&mdash;you earn more by submitting better. As part of this change, we formalized a permanent, invite-only VIP program for researchers who consistently deliver high-quality, high-impact work. VIP researchers receive: Significantly higher payouts&mdash;up to $30,000 or more for critical findings Faster response times on their submissions Early previews of beta products and features before public launch The path to the VIP program is based on demonstrated, consistent quality. Researchers who have one critical, two high, four medium, or seve

Reconstructing AI Agent Activity: Two New Scripts for Forensic Review, (Thu, Oct 8th)

We just did a major update to FOR577 and added a lot of new material on day 5 about investigating AI usage in incident response. In the new material we dicsuss 8 of the most popular AI coding assistants and agents including Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor, Copilot, Warp, Windsurf, and Qwen Code. I've been using Claude Code and a little bit of Codex, but I also have recently been playing with OpenCode and am setting up Hermes. I decided to figure out where the chat history was in OpenCode and where any Hermes evidence might be located.

Cisco NX-OS Software NX-API Remote Code Execution Vulnerability

    CVE-2026-76471exploitrce

A vulnerability in the NX-API feature of Cisco NX-OS Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to execute arbitrary code with root privileges or cause a denial of service (DoS) condition on an affected device. The vulnerability is due to insufficient input validation of data that is sent to the NX-API. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted HTTP request to the NX-API of an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary code with root privileges and could cause process crashes, which could result in a reload of the device and a DoS condition. Cisco has released software updates that address this vulnerability. There are no workarounds that address this vulnerability. This advisory is available at the following link:https://sec.cloudapps.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-napi-rce-r2shwu2j This advisory is part of a group of advisories. For a complete list of the advisories and links to them, see Cisco Advance Notification for Publication of October 7, 2026, Security Advisories. For further documentation of improvements and fixes in Cisco NX-OS Software, see Cisco NX-OS Software Security Hardening Release: October 2026. <br/>Security Impact Rating: Critical <br/>CVE: CVE-2026-76471
